Wedgwoods Odie Boy

Odie was our first American bulldog, we got him when he was 3 months old from Gisborne, he is 7/8th standard.
We got the biggest whitest male they had and he was awesome, he was to be our pet and my companion around the farm, he was fantastic with stock and soon started to think he was a working heading dog.
His best mate was a heading dog, they ran everywhere together, he was running around steep hill country from the day I got him until he was hip x-rayed at 22 months old, he scored a NZVA 4 or OFA excellent (way to go boy).
He is the sole reason we began to breed this magnificent type of dog that is so versatile, he had an excellent temperament a great friend and family member who was an awesome guard dog extremely vocal who really excelled at it at night.
He was later tried on pigs and loved it holding several including an 6 point stag caught while hunting in rugged terrain.
We lost Odie in a very sad way, we will always miss him, he was my best mate for a long time, we camped out round the beaches all the time, just the 2 of us and the fish we caught (and he ate), so we dedicate our performance breeding line of top quality dogs to him, we see a lot of Odie’s traits in Boston and Crystal, long live his genes.

Wedgwoods Racheal

We imported Racheal from Australia in november 2005, she is 100% Johnson type and was the breeders choice.
She grew into a very nice looking well built and heavely muscled dog that was very straight in her front end and has produced for us our 2 next generation of Wedgwood bulldogs and has also produced some great looking offspring.
She has a very soft nature and apsolutely loves attention, we had the privalige of owning her until september 2008 when she went to her new home and breeder in the Taranaki district where she is very well loved, spoiled and very well looked after.
She has a wonderfull new family where she has really started to shine, “thanks guy’s”.

Wedgwoods ELI

We imported eli from Kentuky USA, his grandfather ‘hoss the boss’ was the first pure Johnson dog to be x-rayed of a excellent and Eli has parents all pen-hiped xrayed, Eli was .39 .39 top 90%, he is a very heavy 100% johnson that has plenty of power, prey drive and was the last dog off a boar that was to be released.
We had Eli only a short time to produce what we needed for our next generation, we have 2 male pups from him that we plan to breed from in the future if they pass the requirements, one I own and the other is owned by a friend. Eli has been retired to live the good life on a farm.
